A fourth child has died following a house fire in Essex which police are treating as suspicious.
Fire crews were called to the property in Barn Mead, Harlow, at 01:45 BST.
Three children, believed to be two boys aged 13 and six, a girl aged 11 and the children's mother were declared dead at the scene.
Two children, aged nine and three, were taken to hospital with serious burns. One has now died and another has been transferred to Broomfield Hospital.
A man, believed to be the father, was also taken to hospital with minor burns.
Essex Chief Fire Officer David Johnson said it was "beyond coincidence" that a car was found on fire nearby at the same time as the house.
He described the house fire as "incredibly intense" with temperatures inside reaching 1,000C and the flames taking hold "exceptionally quickly".
It is believed the fire began on the ground floor and the family was upstairs.
Mr Johnson said: "There were flames coming out of the front and rear of the property and people trapped inside.
"Our crews did everything they possibly could to revive those children."

A stunned silence, a yearning for answers and a palpable sense of disbelief.
The community in Harlow this morning learned four children and their mother had died as a result of a fire.
Despite the police cordon, the effects of the fire are clearly visible, with black flame scarring around both the upper and lower windows.
The house itself sits in the middle of a modern terrace just a short walk from a nearby primary school.
Those living in the area have been visibly shaken by the deaths and have gathered on one another's doorsteps or simply in the street to speak about what has happened.
Others have either been walking past the assembled media and police or watching events unfold from behind curtains while fire investigators work to try to piece together exactly what happened.
When fire crews arrived at the scene they also found a car alight a short distance away in a car park.
Police said the car was not connected to the family involved in the house fire, but the car fire is being treated as arson.
An investigation is under way to establish how the fire started at the two-storey terraced house.
Det Sup Rob Vinson, of Essex Police, said: "This is still the early stages of our investigation into the tragic death of five members of one family, a mother and four of her young children.
"At this time we are investigating to see whether this fire was started deliberately and need anyone with information to contact us."
The house will be forensically examined by specialist scientists to find how and where the fire started.
Sharon Pavey, who has lived in the house next door for 10 years, said the family had only recently moved to the area.
'Sad news'"I saw flames coming out of the back window and dialled 999 but they were already on their way," she said.
"The flames and smoke were billowing out and we could tell it was very serious.
"I don't think many people knew them but we are all in shock and this is very sad news."
Local Labour councillor Rod Truan said of the house fire: "No-one can prepare you for this.
"This will touch everybody in Harlow."
Robert Halfon, Conservative MP for Harlow, said he was "very distressed" to learn of the deaths and his thoughts and prayers were with the family.
He said he would be liaising with community and faith groups to ensure whatever support is needed was provided to the family and others affected by the deaths.
