The daughter and son-in-law of a couple found buried in a garden have appeared in court charged with their murders.
The remains, believed to be William and Patricia Wycherley, were found in the back garden of a house in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, on 9 October.
Police said tests showed the couple, who disappeared in 1998, had been shot.
Susan Edwards, 55, and her husband Christopher Edwards, 57, both of no fixed address, were remanded in custody by Nottingham magistrates.
Formal identification is yet to be confirmed but detectives believe the remains are those of Mr and Mrs Wycherley, who lived at the house in Blenheim Close in Forest Town in the 1990s.
Police said Mr and Mrs Wycherley "were known to be quite reclusive".
